TEACHING PERSPECTIVE

I learn a lot from my classroom-based projects, working with wonderful elementary students and teachers in grades 2-8. These experiences (as well as my lengthy teaching career) inform my teaching of preservice and graduate courses.

The collaborative and multimodal affordances of new media present new ways for experiencing mathematics and teacher education. I find that as I use new media tools I learn and grow as a teacher. At the same time, as much as I enjoy working with technology, especially in online settings, I realise that my best teaching happens not because of technology but rather because of sound pedagogy.
